In addition to the CWM coming soon, a new beta 4.2.2 firmware is available (0523). I just installed it and at 1st glance, it is an improvement over the previous 4.2.2 beta. I'll be unavailable for about a week but hope to post a video of this new firmware soon. Be sure and remove the Chinese characters from the folder names in order to allow the software tool to operate correctly! Youtube appears to be broken on this version!!

Because this is an Unsigned driver, under Windows 8 you will need to follow some specific procedure in order to successfully install the driver for the tablet.

2013.03.28 V1 Firmware Info
It appears there's yet a newer Firmware version (0328) available for our Ainol Novo 7 Venus tablet. The link above (there are discussions about the past two upgrades so read carefully). Scroll toward the bottom of the page where the discussion about the 0328 version begins. I have not had a chance to try it yet myself but several users report it's the best Firmware for the Venus 7 yet.
I just upgraded my tablet to the 0328 Firmware. I had a few problems getting started. 1st, the USB port I was attempting to use on my PC wouldn't work for some reason so I switched the cable to a different port and everything went fine after that. I also read where another user had problems with a particular cable he was using and after switching to a different cable, his upgrade went fine. Just a couple items to keep in mind if you PC is having trouble recognizing or connecting to your tablet!
- Chrome browser is still broken with this firmware update
- AnTuTu Benchmark app will work but there is a workaound you will need to perform in order for it to work.
2013.02.03 V1 Firmware Info
This firmware resulted in very improved tablet performance but here's a few of the negatives that came from this update. Both the Chrome app and the Antutu benchmark app fail (Chrome loads but doesn't display pages, AnTuTu loads but crashes at start)
